WTM, based in Padova, Italy, has been producing machines for the cable industry for almost 40 years. Thanks to its huge wealth of technical experience in the process of applying tapes of different materials on conductors, WTM has gained the worldwide reputation as specialist in designing and manufacturing high-performance cable taping lines, spinning and screening machines, single-twist stranding lines, cable heat treatment systems and special applications.
WTM taping machines combine the total control of the tension of the wrapping material with the precision of the tape deposition pitch. WTM high-speed taping heads grant extremely accurate tension control even on flat cables.
For products that need to undergo a sintering process, WTM offers a complete range of ovens, with hot air, infrared or combined technology.
WTM high-speed single-twist stranding machines are designed for producing extremely flexible, high-specification data/communication wires and multicore cables. These lines are completed by WTM concentric backtwist cable pay-offs that grant perfect tensioning and constant backtwisting thanks to the innovative dancer.
WTM has also its own in-line inspection and quality control device: visio system elaborates in real-time the frames collected by the high-speed cameras installed after the taping process and gives accurate indications about the cable geometry and surface quality. Moreover, WTM original software collects data also from other measuring devices and provides SPC/FFT analysis.
